Read Codes used in KIS to record consent

The Read Codes used for the consent status values are as follows:

  • KIS Consent given [9Ndr Consent for key information upload]
  • KIS Consent overridden – patient aware [9Ndt Dissent for KIS upload overridden, patient aware]
  • KIS Consent overridden – patient unaware [9Ndu Dissent for KIS upload overridden, patient unaware]
  • KIS default consent unknown [No readcode – default based on none of the above codes]

All patients will therefore start with no consent and will have 9Ndr added to the record as consent is given. If the status is not known then the 9Ndr entry will not appear in the record

KIS BLOG

Featured

There have been lots of requests for updates and information on the progress of ECS, PCS and KIS so the simplest thing seems to be to take advantage of the latest technology and try out a blog. What I intend to do is gather together historical information on the history of ECS and publish it in chronological order for reference. From now on, everyone involved in the development of the electronic Palliative Care Summary (ePCS) the Key Information Summary (KIS) and the extension of ECS access will be able to add in up to date information on their projects and answer any questions that are asked. Catagories will be able to filter relevant postings into order, and editing rights will ensure that no offensive comments are left for others to read. Please feel free to comment or post queries and we will do our best to reply.
