Points raised at meeting of Palliative Care Leads, Perth 30th March 2012

KIS pilots

• Nurses keen to be able to input directly as not always possible via the GP system
• Keen to have an end to end evaluation – GP – OOHs – Sec Care
• Could end of life plans be included? It will be up to pilot practices to choose which patients but hopefully each practice will choose at least 10 patients, including children.

Good news items:

• ECS patient data extracts are now occurring every two hours at NHS Forth Valley, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and NHS Tayside Health Boards.
• Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) now have access to ECS, ePCS and KIS from their call centres. Patient consent is being taken by the call handler, and records are visible to paramedics in emergency cabs.
